Keeping it Cool – Reservoir TempsWhen your nutrient solution gets too warm (above 24°C), its ability to hold oxygen drops drastically. Scientific data shows this is the primary cause of root rot in tropical climates like ours.Pro Tip: Insulate your reservoirs or keep them shaded. Adding an extra air stone can also help fight off bad bacteria.Gear up: We stock heavy-duty chillers and insulation supplies to keep your roots cool all summer.#growthmindset #RootRotPrevention #CQHydroponics #HydroTips #hydroponics ... The "Hard Water" FactorIn many parts of Central Queensland, our tap water is considered "hard," meaning it’s high in Calcium and Magnesium. Peer-reviewed studies suggest that using standard nutrients in hard water can lead to nutrient lockout. The Solution: Canna Aqua Vega and Flores have specific "Hard Water" formulations to balance out your local water profile perfectly.Shop Local: Visit us in Rockhampton or Gladstone to test your water hardness!#HardWater #growthmindset #Canna #WaterScience #hydroponics ... Understanding VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit)Want to grow like the pros? VPD is the relationship between temperature and humidity. Research shows that if the air is too dry, plants "close" their pores to save water, which stops growth.CQ Strategy: In our hot summers, keeping your grow room humidity slightly higher can actually help your plants stay cool and keep "breathing."Expert Gear: We stock hygrometers so you can monitor your VPD accurately.#VPD #hydroponics #ScienceOfGrowth #growthmindset #GrowLikeAPro ... The Power of Dissolved OxygenDid you know that roots don't just "drink" water—they need to breathe? Peer-reviewed research confirms that Dissolved Oxygen (DO) levels are often the limiting factor in plant growth. Higher oxygen levels at the root zone lead to faster nutrient uptake and massive yield increases. The Pro Tip: Keep your water temperatures below 22°C and use high-quality air stones to maximize oxygen saturation.Essential Gear: We stock high-output air pumps and stones to keep your reservoir bubbling.
